How to take screenshots via Mac & Windows

This article describes the steps required to take a screenshot on a mac and windows

Sometimes the Support Team will ask you for screenshots showing a specific error message etc, to help speed up the troubleshooting process.

Don't know how to take a screenshot? Nothing to worry about as this article will guide you through taking a screenshot on either your mac or a windows device!

πŸ›‘ Please do not send screenshots where clients are identifiable. This includes client names, phone numbers or email addresses.

Taking screenshots on Windows

Windows 11

1. On the taskbar of your desktop, click on the search icon/tab (it's generally next to the windows icon)

2. Type in 'Snipping Tool' and click on the app that appears below

3. Click on the + icon and then drag the crosshair across the area which you want to be included in the screenshot

4. Click on the Save icon and select a destination to save the screenshot then click Save


Windows 10

1. On the taskbar of your desktop, click on the search icon/tab (it's generally next to the windows icon)

2. Type in 'Snipping Tool' and click on the app that appears below

3. Click on New on the top left of the Snipping Tool and drag the crosshair across the area that you want to include in the screenshot

4. Click on the Save icon and select a destination to save the screenshot then click Save


Taking screenshots on Mac

1. To take a screenshot, press and hold these three keys together: Shift, Command and 4

2. Drag the crosshair to select the area of the screen to capture. To move the selection, press and hold the Space bar while dragging. To cancel taking the screenshot, press the Esc (Escape) key

3. To take the screenshot, release your mouse or trackpad button

4. If you see a thumbnail in the corner of your screen, click it to edit the screenshot. Or, wait for the screenshot to be saved to your desktop

πŸ’‘ By default, screenshots will be saved to your desktop with the name ”Screen Shot [date] at [time].png.”

πŸ’‘ If you are having trouble finding your screenshots, then please follow the below steps:

1. Open Launchpad and search for 'Screenshots'

2. Click on Options and change the save location to Desktop
